Follow this easy step-by-step guide:

This helps slow decomposition, minimizes odors, and maintains dignity until we can assist you further.

Step 1 after a pet passes away, Cool Quiet Space

Gently move your pet to a cool, shaded area like a garage (only if airconditioned) or air-conditioned room away from direct sunlight or heat sources. This initial step helps maintain a peaceful environment and begins the preservation process.

Step 2 after a pet passes away, wrap body with care

Use a soft towel, blanket, or sheet to lovingly wrap your pet’s body. If needed, place absorbent pads or plastic sheeting underneath to contain any fluids.

Step 3 after a pet passes away, apply ice or cooling packs

Surround the wrapped body with ice packs, frozen gel packs, or sealed bags filled with ice (ensure bags are leak-proof to avoid moisture). Focus on placing them around the abdomen areas.

Keep the head higher than the rest of the body. This cooling method gently slows natural decomposition and helps reduce unwanted odors.

Step 4 after a pet passes away, monitor and secure area

Keep the area secure, do not leave your loved one outside if at all possible. If your pet is larger, consider using a sturdy box or container for added support.
