You were discovered running at large in January on snow and ice for three weeks before a Good Samaritan was finally able to pick you up and took you to the pound. Emaciated at a mere 30 lbs. you were abandoned and forgotten. That’s when you entered our life nine years ago. You had the sweetest demeanor and accepted and liked everyone. All people who met you immediately fell in love with you. It had to be those big Bassett ears and soft eyes along with your spirit that simply exuded pure love and a whimsical silliness that made us laugh. The absence of your hound bellow, seeing you sleep in your favorite chair, watching you run at full speed in the yard, listening to your slumber breath, not seeing you ‘dance’ for dinner has all left a hole in our heart that will never be filled. Your sister is lost without you. In time, her moans and our tears will pass but your memory has left an indelible paw print on our souls. We are grateful for the opportunity to have loved and cared for you. Thank you Elvis. You still are and always will be our King.
We are truly sorry for your loss. It saddens us they leave us too soon. There is so much love that offer us, someday may we meet them again so they know just how much they were loved. Are prayers go out to you and your family. Take care and God bless.
